To check the scratch resistance of plastic surfaces a device is necessary which
is easy to handle, allowing quick tests and having little influence of test results
through the measuring staff by false operating.
Description of the device
The device consists basically of a plane, a hardmetall blade and a load spring.
On the oblique buttom side of the plane there is a spring loaded test blade inserted.
The compression of the spring can be infinitely variable preset according to the
plastic to be testet. Then the plane will be pulled over the surface at staedy
speed. The test criterion is the visibility of scratches on the surface.
