Testing device DO 160 H /-60 G

Characteristics

  • Determination of the fire characteristics of aircraft equipment.

The defined flame treatment developed in the test procedure determines the resistance of the samples to the effects of flame.

In the test chamber, a vertically arranged sample with the surface facing the gas burner is exposed to a defined flame. The test determines the length of the burned surface and whether and how long the sample burns.

In horizontal tests the rate of combustion is determined. In 60° tests, the length of the burned surface is determined and whether and how long the sample burns.

It is also recorded whether burning material detaches from the sample and falls off and how long the fallen part burns.
