Abrasion testing device APG SN 27650
Characteristics
- Determining the abrasion resistance of varnish / printing ink / coatings.
The device determines the abrasion resistance of paint coat and similar coatings as well as printing ink. It is suitable for surfaces which are exposed to minor mechanical stress, e.g. friction with textiles of paper, as is the case with office appliances, control panels with coated edges or around control buttons. The test for abrasion resistance according to this standard can be done with nearly any flat surface area.
A paper tape is pulled over a coated metal plate or a metal plate printed on with a constant speed of 100 cm/min and is pushed onto the specimen area with a defined load by a cylinder. The measure for abrasion resistance is the length of the paper tape in cm which is needed to make the carrier material visible. The integrated counter registers the length of the paper that moved through the drive unit in cm. Additionally a desired value in cm which the paper is supposed to move over the specimen can be set in the counter. The maxium length of the paper reel is 50 m. The power supply is provided by an IEC-320 AC power cordset 100-230 VAC (50/60 Hz).
